Weird dreams

I’ve kind of recently started dreaming. Well, I know that they say that you dream all the time and whatnot but it’s rare for me to remember a dream. Last night I had 2 very distinct dreams that stuck with me.

In the first dream I was stuck on the Lost island with all the Losties. And creepy Ben was kind of hitting on me. But you don’t want to piss creepy Ben off so I kind of went along with it. I don’t remember a whole lot about it but I do remember thinking that the island was friggin gorgeous.

Then I woke up and got sick and came back to bed and passed out.

I had a weird pseudo-family Thanksgiving dream. I was in the south where my dad’s family all lives. But there were tons of animals there. Lots of big furry dogs. But the thing that stuck with me when I woke up was that there was a horse, but it wasn’t a normal horse. It was a conjoined horse. But the two horses grew together so it was super long with a double set of legs in the middle. It was really freaky looking and moved in kind of a creepy way.

I think a dream analyst would tell me that I watch too much TV and hate horses.

Do you have weird and vivid dreams? I should see if the weird and vivid dreams co-relate to my dosing of NyQuil.

Brief update

So this week was nutty busy at work. Being a working girl is hard! 🙂 But it’s cool and I’m making some friends and the work’s challenging and requires flexibility and isn’t boring so I feel like returning to being a productive member of society was a good call. Plus, it’s given me an excuse to shop. 😉

My husband surprised me with a “back to work” present a few days ago:

120 GB silver iPod classic

VERY cool. And useful. I’m working in a “warehouse” and I’m alone a couple of days a week so I get to crank up the tunes and rock out. Having the bulk of my music at work is a big win for me.

This morning we had a little couples date with my co-worker and her fiance. We went to see “Monsters vs. Aliens” which was pretty cute. In a couple of days I’m said co-worker to look for a wedding dress for her October wedding. I’m so not a wedding girl, and neither is she, which is kind of the point. I’m her “fend off the crazy bridal employees” wing-woman. 🙂

Husband’s father had a good week, health wise, so that was excellent. We’re planning a quick weekend trip in April to see the family.

Our good pal, who moved out here, sold his house on Friday. Hooray!

Ok, I’m starving so it’s off to make some dinner!

Weekending it

Now that I’m back to work, weekends have such significance again. It’s a time to get stuff done. And do something fun with my husband. And sleep in. And do all the chores that I have been neglecting. Gack. Remember when the apartment was all clean and well stocked because that was my “fulltime job?” Good times.

Anyway, this weekend, cleaning, haircut (?), 3 hours of the Battlestar Galactica series finale, a Sharks game, groceries, maybe some shopping, computer cleanup, DVD ripping, and hopefully a little reading. The weather is really nice right now so maybe a nice long walk if the rain holds off. I SHOULD do some eBaying and deck cleaning. We’ll see.

Ok, Jason Statham is being really hot on my TV, I should boogie.

More “new” Shakespeare?

Over the years a few new pieces have been attributed to WIlliam Shakespeare. The man was a prolific writer and often collaborated with other people. Case in point, Edward III, which, if you’re in St. Louis, you can see being performed for the first time in the mid-west this weekend. It’s got a great cast. Go see it.

This week though, an academic claims to have discovered SIX more works that can be attributed to Shakespeare. MORE MORE I say!

Bad blogger, no biscuit

So I’ve been a terrible blog updater. Mea culpa. Life got really hectic. I went back to work for the first time in… 8 months maybe? The job is fun but I’d forgotten how exhausting it is to start a new job and learn everything and have to be up in the morning with pants and everything like that. But my co-workers are totally awesome, I’ve learned all sorts of new stuff, and it’s pretty challenging and requires me to be flexible and come up with new idea, which I dig. It’s so awesome, in fact, that yesterday while driving in to work a rainbow appeared over my office.

Simultaneously, we had a grandparent death and then a parent in the hospital a few days later. So my husband’s family has had a fairly crap two weeks. He comes home tomorrow to a big, big hug.

My ankle brace came off, I’ve stepped down to hiking boots/shoes with good ankle support so we’ll see how that goes. My new boots are styling though!

Boots

It is still weird to me that I live in a place where Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s day are total non-events. I’d miss them altogether if it weren’t for the internet.

Ok, off to tidy the place up before my husband flies home!

WonderCon recap

I know, I know, I’m behind but this girl just started working again!

Anyway, WonderCon. We ended up going both Saturday and Sunday because there were two panels on Sunday that looked like fun. Saturday was basically movie themed – there were big panels for the upcoming Watchmen, Star Trek, and Terminator movies. Sunday was more television oriented with panels from Chuck and Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Saturday definitely had the best costumes (see the Bumblebee costume above). Sunday was less humid and easier to move around.

Some random thoughts about the show:

* Adam Baldwin is handsome and funny.

* I want to have beers with the whole cast of Chuck. (And if you’re not watching this show, you should check it out.)

* Watchmen looks incredibly faithful to the book.

* Shirley Manson, lead singer of Garbage, is super cute.

* McG, the director of Terminator Salvation, swears like a pirate.

* There weren’t as many Rorshach costumes as I’d feared.

* Adam West still rocks.

* But I didn’t see Carrie Fischer or Mark Hamill.

* And San Francisco still rules. See graffiti below:

Bulemic dog

If you can’t read it, it says “Is your dog bulemic? Here are some signs: 1. Vomiting 2. Eating grass” It’s hilarious.

Ok, my working self is sleepy. Logging off to watch some TV!
