Personal shout out

I just wanted to mention that on October 3, a former colleague, Patrick, will be going in for a kidney transplant. If you met Patrick, you’d have no idea he’s been illin’ for about ten years. The story is that in high school Patrick had what he thought was a cold. Which turned into strep. Which turned into something I can’t pronounce, which settled into his kidneys and took about 70% of his kidney function. He’s at about 15% kidney function right now and he’s in remarkably good health.

One of his good friends (though now I’d say his best friend), John, got tested and is a good match so he’s going to donate his kidney to Patrick.

They both go into surgery October 3 and voila! Patrick hopefully gets dramatically better!

Good vibes to you both!
