My husband’s a cushy salary man who’s in a not-as-busy time at work, while I’m a lowly contractor who supports retail stores. Ergo, he’s allowed to take time off this week and I’m not. So he’s on vacation in the mid-west visiting his parents, siblings, and various high school and college friends. And stuffing his face with turkey. I mean, it’s Tuesday and he’s already had four, yes I said FOUR, meals of turkey. Am I bitter? Not really. Except for the bit about the turkey. I love Thanksgiving feast turkey. With the cheapest can of cranberries possible. If you can’t see the aluminum can rings, I don’t want ‘em.

Anyway, I’ll be home alone on Thursday, and I’m ok with that. You know why? It’s directly related to what I’m thankful for. And that’s the right to NOT WEAR PANTS. See, this Thanksgiving I’m declaring it to be pants-free Thursday. While all you suckers are having to deal with family and stuffing yourself and being all jolly and polite, I’ll be at home, un-showered, sleeping, and generally not wearing pants. And eating things like white cheddar popcorn. And drinking things like homemade sangria.

Jealous?

Mental Floss has a list of 10 Awesome Foods that should never have been discontinued. I mean, Gerber baby food for single people? How could that not be awesome? A chicken dinner candy bar? TOTALLY AWESOME. Extra caffeinated breakfast Pepsi? ZIPPY AWESOME. Celery Jell-o? Ok, that does sound nasty.

I got an email from Amazon this week with some crazy exciting news. They now have classic, 1980s, CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE BOOKS!!

These went out of print some years ago. I used to get dads wanting to buy them for their kids when I worked at the bookstore. And now you can get them in electronic format. Genius!

There’s a whole Amazon catalogue of them in a special Kindle store. My inner 8 year old geek girl is freaking out! EEP!

We just got home from a birthday feast (so. full.) and turned on the TV. To a damn shopping for Christmas ad. Is it just me or does Christmas advertising come earlier and earlier every year?

Because we were feasting we missed the first night of “V.” Without spoilers – what’d you all think? Good? Bad?

STAR WARS Episodes IV-VI are to be referred to as “The Original Trilogy.” Episodes I-III are not to be referred to at all.
